Peugeot buys iconic Indian car brand

French car manufacturer Peugeot has bought India's most iconic car brand from its maker Hindustan Motors in a deal that signifies the passing of an era in India's motoring history.
Over the weekend, the C.K. Birla Group that owns Hindustan Motors said it had signed an agreement with Peugeot SA to sell the Ambassador for 800 million rupees ($12 million).

Faraday reveals sleek, sporty concept car in Vegas

The automotive future according to a new electric car maker looks an awful lot like a Corvette crossed with the Batmobile.
California-based Faraday Future debuted its sleek electric concept racecar Monday night during the annual CES show that focuses on consumer gadgets and has increasingly become a way for carmakers to show off their latest technological feats.

Indian capital starts limiting cars for 2 weeks to clear air

The Indian capital on Friday kicked off a sweeping plan to reduce its record-high air pollution by limiting the numbers of cars on the streets for two weeks.
New Delhi is testing a formula where private cars will be allowed on the roads only on alternate days from Jan. 1-15, depending on whether their license plates end in an even or an odd number.

One of the world's most polluted capitals, New Delhi, closed a major stretch of a road to private cars for a few hours Thursday, hoping to give its citizens a brief breath of fresh air by observing a car-free day.
Only public transport was allowed on the road from Old Delhi to the doorstep of Parliament.

Five highlights from the Frankfurt auto show

Luxury Rolls-Royce car sales soar worldwide

They are rolling symbols of wealth and excess, starting at $263,000 a pop, with many buyers choosing custom options that can easily double the price. And they are more popular than ever before.
Rolls-Royce reported a startling rise in demand for their distinctive cars Tuesday.
